Today I am going to review a cable end protector called sleev for your apple cable sold from a company called TradeWick an ecommerce company with the right blend of tech and fashion based out of Boston MA (Only a train or car ride away from NH) The sleev costs about $9.99 USD and comes with Free shipping if bought on Amazon US with Prime, so that’s all you will pay. So not bad for the price but how does it perform? That’s what this review intends to show you, so read on….
Info:
Product Name: Sleev Wire Protector
Provider: TradeWick
Sleev is designed to help protect wires from losing their integrity by covering the ends of the cables. The material is specifically designed to shrink down to the size of most wires when heated. The Sleev is composed of several different diameters along its length, ensuring that the center is rigid while the edges are flexible, allowing for free movement and maximum protection. Sleev’s diameter is ideal for most charger cables, headphones, and many household products. The material contain an internal adhesive which is automatically released when the Sleev shrinks to the desired size, ensuring a concentrated shield against wire wrinkles, tears, and other damages
Overall
So I’m going to keep this short Sleev is a great idea if you don’t want to go out and buy a new cable. I have to admit I was having a hard time coming to grip paying $10 for a protector when most new apple cables on amazon have a “going rate” of the same price plus it’s only shrink PVC so maybe two or three for five dollars might be a better price to consider keeping an old apple charging cable. Another disappointment I was going to try this with my old Macbook charger I recently bought a new charger since the end was getting chewed up but the Sleev wouldn’t fit since it’s fitted to go with the end of an apple cable and not just anywhere on the cable. So design and price need to be worked on for a future model.
