Today I am going to review an updated car mount then what I reviewed late last year from a company called Mountek they are a California-based development and manufacturing company committed to meeting drivers’ technology needs when they’re on the road. the mount costs about $29.99 USD on Amazon by using the link below So the mount is not bad for the price but how does it perform? That’s what this review intends to show you, so read on….
Info:
Product Name: Mountek nGroove Snap 2
So as I said back in December I reviewed the nGroove Snap 1st Gen there isn’t a whole difference then I thought there would be a lot of improvements but there wasn’t It’s more of a redesigned car mount which they say is for better performance, there’s a better rubberized grip material on my original nSnap as well as the insertion blade now provides a stronger, sturdier hold in the CD slots or dashboard grooves before with the old model the product’s edges were thinner and didn’t hold as well The product’s silicone metal sticker base received a special 3M adhesive overlay to reduce lift when a device is removed from the nGroove Snap 2 adapter you also get one or two extra metal badges which is nice if you have a Nexus 7 or iPad mini and a Phone
One thing I got to give props to the designers they replaced the nGroove Snap’s yellow safety sticker with a subtle gray-on-black rendition of the classic Mountek logo this is better in terms of safety now you might be saying ok I know the mount is made of a tough plastic what is the metal sticker made of well it all started with blue tempered steel and the Mountek team worked hard to get the size, shape, and thinness just right for a perfect, sturdy, hold onto our magnetic mount. Also don’t worry it works around QI Chargers and NFC after many tests they have not found any damage to NFC, flash memory, gyroscopes, compasses or any other phone features. Something that I mentioned in my last review of the nGroove first gen is that you don’t have to just use it while in the car it works great with tripod mount screws for both full-size and mini tripods
Conclusion:
So yes the mount is priced low, but is it even worth it? I would say YES! if you want a to have a car mount isn’t sticky or loses suction to your car dash while driving and you can use as a smart phone/tablet stand with a Gorilla Pod
So in all it’s not bad for a Car Mount The final score averages out to be a 10 out of 10, but that takes into account everything
